Have you heard BoA's new song, Only One? It stands out from her previous fast, upbeat songs yet still has her signature dancing in the music video that I really admire. I wish I could dance like her! Can ballerinas dance hiphop? haha.
Dance Version
I never really bothered to listen to BoA's music before, 'cos I thought I would not be really interested in singers who have been around for awhile. But this song is really touching and calming. I like the fact that she composed it herself and wrote the lyrics. I'm going to go watch the mv again, really like that her dancing is not too girly and she actually moves, well, not like a guy but has that sort of body flow which shows that she's not just dancing 'cos it's part of her job requirement. There's raw talent there. That's probably why she's nicknamed the Queen of Korean Pop.
Drama Version
I especially like the fact that Yoo Ah In from Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Fashion King is in this music video! Always liked to watch him in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, loved his acting and his character. Hmm... I haven't watched Fashion King yet, is it finished? Let me check. I always prefer watching dramas that have fully finished airing on television so that I don't have to wait for each episode to come out. Instead, I can have a drama marathon and watch everything one-shot! Well, maybe a few shots...
Yes! It finished airing. I'm going to go watch it after I finish up Love Rain. Not sure if Love Rain's worth finishing though. I was a bit disappointed with the acting in that drama. Now stay calm, but I honestly think they could have done a better job. With the sets and filming too. I can still remember the kiss scene Yoona and Jang Geun Seuk had in front of the fountain halfway through the drama. The camera angles and the cheap pub music was terrible and didn't match the feel of the scene at all. I was so disturbed that I actually cringed after a couple seconds and clicked the fast forward button at the speed of light.
I actually prefer the first half of the drama where it was set back in the 1980's compared to the modern skip forward. It would have been better if they made the entire show date back to that period and make a splash with that unique trade of the drama. There are quite few dramas that are set in that period, most go back to a few thousand B.C. in historical times. The director could have made a lot more use of that opportunity.
Anyway, enough on the topic of Love Rain. I hope I didn't bore you all too much with it. I had actually planned on just writing on BoA, but then for some reason it switched to this and I just continued ranting. ^^ 'Till next time!
Although BAP's new song for their First Mini Album 'No Mercy' is not as strong as their first two singles, 'Warrior' and 'Power', it still has their signature rebellious, loud and strong beat. I love that they're sticking to this genre of music for their main songs, but are still putting some ballads out there. DaeJae's voices are perfect for those. It shows their fans that they are talented in different genres too, but they know what image they're aiming for in the long run.
No Mercy has been on the repeat for my iPad and iTunes for the past week or so. It's dangerously addictive, you won't be able to get enough of it. i especially love Himchan's

His deep voice... I cannot breathe. Daehyun's head voice is so unexpected! I love it! Youngjae's hair is finally out of his face, and I can say I prefer this much better. Jong Up's dance solo was so so cool, I wish I could have seen him perform it at their Malaysia Fanmeeting, but I couldn't make it on that day. Zelo's as cool as ever, he's so tall and grown up now. I cannot believe he's actually so young. Bang Yong Guk, needless to say, was as amazing as always. Full of confidence, swag and talent, there is absolutely no question as to why he's the leader of BAP.
Teen Top's on their way back into our lives with Be Ma Girl. They recently released a teaser for their new single!
I have been missing them since To You. I love doing their waddling dance. Is that what you call it? haha. Especially Changjo's cool break out dance in the middle of the of the mv.
The beginning of this teaser reminded me immediately of U-Kiss' Dora Dora mv with all the glow in the dark effects. I love it! What's wrong with taking something that's so cool and using it in your mv as well? If it's that good, there's no harm. :)

Wooyoung has definitely made a splash with his new solo single, Sexy Lady! I love its electric tune at the beginning. So catchy!
Before his solo debut, I had always just seen him as a dancer in 2pm, a very good one in deed. Didn't know much about him, only that he has a lot of talent and that he stared in Dream High 1, which in my opinion is my preferred one of the two series. Now, he has heightened my curiosity.
His music video was exceptionally interesting and very, very sexy. 2pm is not one of my favourite groups, but I think that all the members are very funny and have good personalities. Not to mention, very passionate about their work.
I am so glad to hear from BEAST again. They are one the first KPop groups I had heard off back in 2009, with Shock and Say No. Their catchy and meaningful music got me hooked straight away. My bias immediately became Kikwang, full stop. But there was always a transition time between preferring each member just a tad bit more. Now the conclusion I have come to is that the whole group is equally loved.
Beast released their first track to their album 'Midnight Sun' today. It's called Midnight and it's tune sounds very casual and catchy. It keeps replaying in my head.

The album will be released on July 22th. I wish I could buy it but I only buy KPop merchandise on meaningful events.
For example, I bought their first album, 'Fiction and Fact', when I went to their fanmeeting at Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia last June. I bought U-KISS's 2nd album, 'Neverland' when I went to Korea last winter. It was the only album I bought. My sis, unsurprisingly, bought the B1A4 album at the same time. She's a huge fan.
Anyway, back to business. My point was that I only buy things related to KPop if it's an important occasion, so I have a better memory of that event and it has more sentimental meaning along with the joy of owning them in general.
Oh dear, I must warn you readers that there is some serious hair-talk in the upcoming paragraphs. Feel free to skip it if you want and watch the video, but I just felt the sudden urge to write this.
I must say that I love all their interesting new hairstyles and hair colours this summer. Very eye-catching. Dongwoon is definitely looking less and less asian and more arabic. haha. But very very cute all the same. So handsome with his light blonde hair, still looks so manly.
Kikwang, oh god. His hair! He's has a completely different style now. A permed, dark grey coloured hairstyle. I wonder how he maintains it... It's probably not permanently permed, hopefully. Or else it would be really hard to take care of. Nope, I think he just dyed it. I like his straight black hair, definitely Kikwang style.
Speaking of black hair, Doojoon still rocks his black hair, wearing cool shades in this very short MV too. Actually, under the sunlight it seems to be dark, dark brown. But that's most likely his natural colour. For those who don't know, most Chinese, Koreans and Japanese actually have dark brown hair, not completely black. Doojoon doesn't need to change his hairstyle or colour, he looks smoking hot just the way he is. Just a side note: I've recently become a little infatuated with Doojoon, to be honest. hehe.
Anyway, another pressing matter; Junhyung's gone purple! O.O It actually looks pretty alright to me, I quite like it. It's the sort of lavender purple, a colour similar to what Secret's Hyo Sung and BAP's Bang Yong Guk. But maybe, just a tiny bit brighter. It might just be the lighting of this MV, but I definitely like this colour.
Hyunseung is looking as dashing as always in bright, yet deep red hair. I love that hair colour, just not how he styled it in this mv. I rarely see him with his hair up, wonder what it would look like. His vocals are, naturally, amazing. Love love love his voice. All the BEAST members have great voices.
The one who most likely can sing the highest, Yoseob, has orange hair in this video. A very cute and fun colour that matches his personality and smile fantastically well.

Well, that's the end of the hair assessment. I was suddenly inspired to write about their hair when watching this music video. It took me... 5 seconds to think about it, then I started writing. It was a spur of the moment sort of thing. Forgive me!
